Is my baby developing normally? YES for me :)
Bouncing up and down
Your baby can now support some of her weight on her legs, and she loves to bounce. What's more, she's probably able to sit unsupported (which will free her hands for exploring), and she'll turn when sitting to reach a desired object. She may even be able to get into a sitting position from lying on her stomach by pushing up on her arms.
Learning to grab
Your baby's fine motor skills are coming along, too. By now she can probably scoop things up with just one little hand and transfer them from one hand to the other fairly easily. She may also be able to clasp her hands together and sip from a two-handled cup (with your assistance). Before long you'll probably notice the noise level increasing, not only because of your baby's babble, but also because she'll find out how much fun it is to bang objects together.
To encourage fine motor activity, place a toy just out of your baby's reach and watch her try to get it. If she cries because she can't quite get it, keep giving her relaxed encouragement - but not the toy. She's just venting frustration and will become more physically confident more quickly if you don't make everything too easy for her. After a few tries, she'll be able to lean forward to grab it and then straighten herself again. Of course, this will give her ideas, and she'll soon be rocking back and forth on her hands and knees, and may crawl or repeatedly roll over to move about the room. Aid her explorations and mobility by dressing her in loose, comfortable clothes.
Teething
While your baby may already have begun teething (the average age is five or six months, though it can start as early as three months or as late as 12 months), about now you can expect to see the two upper central incisors, then the two lateral incisors. Don't be alarmed if your baby has gaps between some of her teeth; teeth often come through the gums at odd angles, and any spaces commonly disappear after all 20 baby teeth have broken through. Once your baby starts teething, you can expect more drooling and experimenting with sounds as she adjusts to having these strange new things in her mouth.
Testing your authority
By now, you may already have found yourself telling your baby that the telephone is not a toy. Or maybe in your house the reminders revolve around her tossing her rattle in your face. The fact is, at this age your baby may begin testing your authority by refusing to follow your directions or entreaties. When she pushes back, she's not being disobedient or willful - she's just curious and simply can't remember things for more than a couple of seconds at a time. The best tactic is to use a simple no, then distract her.
The beginnings of separation anxiety
If your baby is anxious when she's away from you during the day, her concern will be compounded at bedtime. When she wakes up at night, even for a moment, she'll know you're nearby, and will be vocal about trying to get your attention. You'll feel torn between the strong urge to scoop her up and take her to bed with you and the voices of those who tell you that to do so is to spoil her. Don't worry: it won't hurt to indulge her occasionally - not always - by bringing her into bed with you. When the separation anxiety disappears, you can teach her to sleep by herself again. Of course, if you've opted for the family bed, you'll always be close at night.
Your baby's reluctance to be separated from you may delight you but may also frustrate you at times. In either case, it might help to load a laundry basket with her toys and move it - and her - from room to room so you can get the jobs that need doing around the house done while enjoying each other's company.
Recognition skills
Your baby now actively engages in hiding games and can remember that the jack-in-the-box pops up at the end of the song. She's also able to recognise different tones and inflections, and may burst into tears if you speak harshly.
Figuring out how objects relate
Your baby's beginning to understand how objects relate to one another in three-dimensional space. She may be able to sort toys, grouping items such as blocks by size. And if she admires her reflection in a window, and you suddenly appear behind her image, she's likely to turn and look for you instead of believing that you're in the mirror itself.
If you've noticed that a simple game of peek-a-boo is absolutely fascinating to your baby, it's because she's also starting to understand object permanence and loves games where people or things appear and disappear. In fact, one of the easiest ways to keep a seven-month-old occupied is by hiding an object under a blanket for her to discover.
Stimulating toys and games
Your baby enjoys playing the same game over and over because she likes predictability. In addition to peek-a-boo (see above), try adding classics such as round and round the garden and patta-cake patta-cake to your repertoire.
At this age, babies also tend to gravitate toward stuffed animals, both big and small. Most likely, one will emerge as the favourite security object and will soon be covered in dribble and have to accompany you everywhere. When adding new members to your soft toy collection, look for soft, well-stitched stuffed toys that can be washed. Other good toys include balls, nesting cylinders, pop-up toys and large dolls.
If your baby has a favourite plaything or two, you may start to realise that the expression "as easy as taking sweets from a baby" no longer applies. While it used to be easy to remove things from her grasp, you may now find her protesting loudly when you take toys and other things away.
Is my baby developing normally?
Remember, each baby is unique and meets physical milestones at his or her own pace. These skills are simply a guide to what your baby has the potential to accomplish - if not right now, then shortly.
And if your baby was born prematurely, you'll probably find that it will be a little while before she can do the same things as other children her age. Don't worry, most doctors assess a premature child's development from the time she should have been born and evaluate her skills accordingly

6th Month Baby Milestone

Exploring with his hands
By the time he's about six months old (though sometimes it takes a little longer), your baby's hand control is developed enough that he can pull an object towards him. Once he's learned to grab a toy, he'll start to practice moving objects from one hand to the other. Plus, he may discover that letting go of something is as much fun as picking it up. Once he understands the concept of cause and effect, your baby's world will become more interesting ... and yours a good deal messier.
Left or right-handed?
It's still too early to tell whether your baby is left- or right-handed. At this stage, most babies seem to favour one hand for a while and then switch to the other. True left or right-handedness won't really be determined until he's between two and three years old.
Learning to roll over
By this age, most babies have learned to roll over in each direction, a milestone that will probably amuse you - and him. Of course, while rolling over is fun for your baby, it could wrack a few nerves for you. Keep a hand on your baby during nappy changes, and never leave him unattended on a bed or any other raised up surface. If you use a changing table, now might be a good time to start putting the changing mat on the floor instead.
Your little social animal
At this age babies not only tolerate attention from others, they often initiate it. Though you may soon notice the beginnings of stranger anxiety, six-month-olds are still fairly indiscriminate: anyone who approaches your baby with raised eyebrows or a grin delights him and becomes an instant friend. But don't worry - he still needs and craves lots of attention from you.
Your baby is also learning that his behaviours, both the ones you like and the ones you don't, engage you, so starting now (and for years to come) your child will do just about anything to get your attention. Right now almost everything he does is endearing, but as he gets older, he's more likely to get into mischief to provoke a reaction from you. Just don't forget to lavish attention on him when he meets with your approval.
One thing will become clear: your baby is beginning to vary his attention-getting repertoire beyond crying. So expect him to work hard to get you to notice him by wriggling, making noises and so on. Over the next three months, he'll develop a uniquely personal way of letting you know what he thinks, wants and needs.
Playing turn-taking games
Six-month-olds love turn-taking games, especially ones that involve sounds and language. Let your baby be the leader sometimes, and mimic his vocalisations. When it's your turn to lead, a good way to teach your child - and make him laugh at the same time - is to make animal noises ("quack-quack," "bow-wow" and so on).
Your baby the babbler
By six months your baby sees and hears the world almost as well as you do. His communication skills are expanding rapidly, too, including squeals, bubbling sounds, operatic octave changes and babbling. At this age, about half of all babies babble, repeating one syllable - such as "ba," "ma," "ga," or other consonant-vowel combinations - over and over. A few will even add another syllable or two, making their sounds more complex. You can encourage your baby by babbling right back at him and by making a game of it ("The sheep says, 'baaa,'" or "The goat says, 'maaa,'" and so on), or by listening as if you understand everything he says and find it extremely interesting. Your baby can also recognise different tones and inflections and may cry now if you speak to him harshly.
A guaranteed way to delight your baby is to fill a glass three-quarters full and use a straw to blow bubbles. Both the sound and sight will make him laugh.
Stimulating his senses
Your baby uses all of his senses to explore and learn about his world. Make sure he has lots of safe things around to touch, mouth and manipulate. He'll delight in squishing a soft rubber ball, patting a piece of fake fur, gnawing a chilled teething ring and hearing a bell sound inside a stuffed animal.
Getting a kick out of story hour
Reading aloud to your child comes into its own now, as he will enjoy looking at bright pictures and having a quiet snuggle on your lap. No matter what your child's age, of course, reading provides an opportunity for cuddling and socialising that both baby and parent can appreciate.
Is my baby developing normally?
Remember, each baby is unique and meets physical milestones at his or her own pace. These skills are simply a guide to what your baby has the potential to accomplish - if not right now, then shortly.
And if your baby was born prematurely, you'll probably find that it will be a little while before he can do the same things as other children his age. Don't worry, most doctors assess a premature child's development from the time he should have been born and evaluate his skills accordingly.

Baby Milestone @5Month
Sitting up on her own
By now, your baby's physical developments are coming fast and furiously. If you place her on her stomach, she'll extend her arms and legs and arch her back, and when on her back, she'll lift her head and shoulders. She may even sit momentarily without assistance -- be nearby, however, to provide support and surround her with pillows to cushion a possible fall.
Encourage her to play face-down on the floor: lifting her head and chest to see toys or your face helps strengthen her neck muscles and develops the head control necessary for sitting up. If you support her under the arms while letting her balance her feet on your thighs, she'll bounce up and down. She's capable of easily bringing an object to her mouth for oral exploration.
Repeating her favourite sounds
Your baby is adding new sounds to her language repertoire, and her current favourite is probably blowing a raspberry or making bubbles. At this age, it's common for babies to become so enthralled by one of their newfound abilities that they get stuck on it for a while. This is a normal developmental process. Most babies master one skill before moving to the next. Hearing the same sound over and over can get annoying, but learning patience now will prepare you for the endless string of "nos" and "whys" you'll be hearing when she is a toddler.
Strong enough to feed herself
Though she may be able to hold her own bottle now, don't prop your baby up and let her feed herself just yet. She'll be better able to sit up by herself and grasp small objects sometime after six months.
This month, continue using feed times to cuddle, hold and nurture your baby -- she'll be fiercely independent and resisting your kisses and snuggles soon enough. Your baby's probably showing more signs that she's ready for solids -- from a lessened tongue-thrust reflex to a keener interest in the foods you and other people are eating. However, breastmilk or formula is all she needs until she is six months old.
Learning about cause and effect
Your baby's ability to interact with you, others and her surroundings is growing daily. At this stage, she may start playing little games as she begins to understand that simple actions have results. She may drop objects just to watch you pick them up, or to see how and where they fall. Tiring as it sounds, you'd better get used to it. In a few weeks, this will be accompanied by fits of giggles.
Able to see small objects and subtle colours
Your baby's getting better at spotting very small objects and tracking moving things. At this point, your child may be able to recognise an object after seeing only part of it -- the basis of little hide-and-seek games you'll be playing in the coming months.
Earlier, your baby learned to distinguish between similar bold colours. Now she's beginning to sort out subtle differences in pastels. Read more about your baby's developing sight.
Honing in on sounds
Your baby now realises where sounds come from, and she'll turn quickly toward a new one. One of the most appealing ways to engage her is to jingle a set of keys. Wind chimes are great attention-getters, too.
Your baby may watch your mouth intently when you speak now, and try to imitate inflections and utter consonant sounds such as "m" and "b." Five-month-olds can recognise their own names. Notice how your little one turns her head when you call her or talk about her with others.
Easily distractible now
When your baby starts fussing at the supermarket this month, you may be able to distract her for a short time. Try engaging her with funny faces or a round of Incy-Wincy Spider. Clapping your hands or giving her something to hold can work too.
A growing range of emotions
Babies can't express their emotions in the same complex way that adults do. While they do let you know when they're angry, bored or happy, they can't express love or humour in the first few months, but that's beginning to change. By five months, your baby shows a strong attachment to you by raising her arms when she wants to be picked up and crying when you leave the room. She may also give you hugs and kisses. And she's beginning to get the joke -- she'll laugh at funny expressions or positions and try to make you laugh, too.
For many parents, this is when the fun begins. You'll find yourself regressing back to childhood as you make silly faces and nonsense sounds, or play at pantomime and mimicry.
Is my baby developing normally?
Remember, each baby is unique and meets social milestones at her own pace. These are simply guidelines to what your baby has the potential to accomplish -- if not right now, then shortly.
And if your baby was born prematurely, you'll probably find that she'll need time before she can do the same things as other children her age. Don't worry. Most doctors assess a premature child's development from the time she should have been born and evaluate her skills accordingly.
If you have any questions at all about your baby's development, check with your doctor.

Baby Milestone @4Month

Feeding less frequently
As your baby reaches four months, his stomach has grown bigger so he doesn't need to feed so often -- just four or five times a day. But he'll still gain weight -- his need to feed just tapers off as he gets older, becoming more like that of older children and adults.
Now his attention will start to gravitate toward other people and things during mealtimes, and though it's exciting to see him aware of and responsive to new things, feedings can get difficult. If your baby is easily distracted, try feeding him somewhere quiet for a while.
A new talent for rolling over
When placed on his stomach, your baby will lift his head and shoulders high, using his arms for support. This mini push-up helps him strengthen his muscles and get a better view of what's going on. He may even amaze you (and himself!) by rolling over from his back to his front, or vice versa. You can encourage this through play: wiggle a toy next to the side he customarily rolls to in case he's interested enough to try again. Applaud his efforts and smile; he may need your reassurance since new actions can be frightening.
Time for solid foods?
For the first four to six months of life your baby gets all the nutrients he needs from breastmilk or formula milk. Still, parents are often eager to start their babies on solid foods. Talk to your doctor before trying yours on solids.
You can begin feeding your baby some solids (meaning mushy foods such as pureed baby food or baby cereal) now that his digestive tract is more developed and his tongue-thrust reflex is starting to fade, but many doctors encourage parents to wait until their baby is six months old. Not rushing onto solids can cut down on allergic reactions and ensures that breastmilk and formula won't get crowded out of your baby's diet.
Reaching out and mouthing objects
Your baby is now able to reach out and grab an object, even though he often misses his mark on the first try. Once he wraps his hands around something, he'll study it for a moment and then try to put it in his mouth. You may also notice a lot more dribbling now. Some babies can start teething as early as four months, but the first tooth usually doesn't surface until five to six months.
Encourage your baby to explore and play with a variety of objects. For instance, a clean cloth nappy will occupy your baby for a few minutes. Watch him suck on it, hold it, and discover what happens when he scrunches it up. Give him a light rattle and watch him delight in the sound it makes when he shakes it. An activity centre or cradle gym is a good choice for this stage, as your baby begins to discover the cause and effect of moving a lever and hearing a bell ring, for instance.
Able to play alone now
By now, your baby can play with his hands and feet for a few minutes at a time. A miracle! Suddenly you realise it's strangely quiet in the bedroom so you look in, only to discover that your baby, who so far has needed your attention for most of every waking moment, is amusing himself. Now maybe you can start reading the paper again.
Beginning to understand the role of language
Researchers believe that by four months, your baby understands all the basic sounds that make up his native language. Between four and six months, he develops the ability to make some vocal sounds, such as "ma-ma" or "da-da." He doesn't yet connect that sound with a parent, though.
By now, he's also able to participate in back-and-forth imitation games -- you say "boo," and he'll try to say it back. You can promote your child's sense of communication through imitating his faces and sounds -- "mirroring" him. Because you react when he makes noises and tries to say something, your baby learns the importance of language and starts to understand cause and effect. He'll begin to realise that what he says makes a difference.
Appreciation for a full range of colours
Babies see colour from birth, but they have difficulty distinguishing similar tones such as red and orange. As a result they often prefer black and white or high-contrast colours. Between your baby's second and fourth months, colour differences become clearer, and your baby starts to distinguish similar shades. Your baby will probably begin to show a preference for bright primary colours now. Some great eye-catchers include primary-coloured mobiles (hung out of his reach), bright posters and visually striking board books.
Read more about the development of baby's sight.
Getting more selective about people
By four months, your baby may respond to your presence, your voice and even your facial expressions by kicking and waving his arms.
About now, your child, who to this point probably bestowed smiles on everyone he met, is beginning to be choosy about the company he keeps. In large groups or with unfamiliar people he may need time to get comfortable. Allow for transition time with strangers or when leaving your baby with a babysitter. You may also notice that when he's safely in your arms he's interested in interacting with other people -- especially noisy, boisterous older children.

And if your baby was born prematurely, you'll probably find that he'll need time before he can do the same things as other children his age. Don't worry. Most doctors assess a premature child's development from the time he should have been born and evaluate his skills accordingly.
If you have any questions at all about your baby's development, check with your doctor.

Kesian ummi tengok awak, berpeluh sakan.
Nasib walid tabah orangnya. Ummi teman walid sampai pukul 10 sahaja. Lepas tu Ummi dah tak tahan mengantuk, ummi tertidur. Kesian walid driving sorang-sorang.
Kita sampai ke KL pukul 12 Malam. Hebatnya perjalanan kita sayang. Awak mesti sakit-sakit badan kan? banyak sangat berjalan. Tahun depan kita naik flight pulak ya :)
Good Night Walid sayang. Good Night Haziq Sayang. Good Night tuk Ummi jugak :)
